BEHIND THE CAMERA ★
I'm Nikisha, an Oxford & South West–based photographer.
I've always been fascinated by the way live music brings people together. Whether it's the anticipation before the lights go down, the shared experience of a performance with strangers, or the fleeting moments between an artist and audience, I found myself wanting to preserve the feeling of those moments long after the last song had ended.
While my journey started in live music, I soon realised it was the connection behind those experiences that I loved capturing most. This passion has naturally grown beyond the stage, allowing me to document meaningful moments, from family sessions, celebrations, events, and authentic brand content for small businesses.
When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me travelling or spending time with the people closest to me, but even then, I'd probably be described as the friend with the camera.
I've never been drawn to overly posed photographs. My favourite moments are the ones that happen naturally: laughter between shots, the excitement before the music starts, or the connection shared between loved ones. Those are the moments that feel the most real. Taking photographs became my way of holding onto those moments. While memories fade, a photograph has a way of bringing you right back to how it felt.
